HIRING YOUR TORONTO HEADSHOT & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
-
This might seem like a no brainer, but many people ask us “why should I hire a Toronto headshot photographer, when I can easily have someone else take my picture for free?”
And to that, we often say, go ahead! If you can get the results you want by using a more cost-effective method, why wouldn’t you?
But often, the results people want, and the free methods available to them are in conflict—that is, you get what you pay for.
Often, people have high expectations of what their headshots or portraits should look like. And that typically comes with the benefit of hiring a professional Toronto portrait photographer!
-
If you’re looking to shoot with our Toronto headshot and portrait photographer inside of our Toronto photography studio, you can book your headshot or portrait sessions online via the BOOK NOW portal. You’ll need a valid VISA or MasterCard to book (no AMEX).
If you have any questions about your portrait or headshot session that are not urgent, feel free to email us by using the email form at the bottom footer of our website! If you want slightly prioritized service, send us a text or WhatsApp us at +1 416-277-6355 (tap to open a WhatsApp chat)
When reaching out, make sure to have all your questions listed out and ready to go. If you have them all ready in one message, we’ll be better able to address your inquiries in a timely manner to get you scheduled in faster!
If the nature of your inquiry is urgent, or if you want to schedule a last minute shoot, feel free to call. We answer most calls!
-
If you’d like to schedule your photoshoot elsewhere than at our Toronto photography studio, it’s best to inquire directly with us. Please note that it is more cost effective and easy to simply shoot at our Toronto photo studio, as traveling to your office requires more production time to set-up and take down, and travel expenses. For this reason we advise you to consider shooting at our Toronto studio unless you’ve got a generous budget.
-
If you’ve never been photographed, that’s ok! We work with plenty of newbies everyday and it’s actually quite a fun experience when you’re guided through it with patience and a can-do, fun, and positive attitude! Trust us, you’ll have a ton of fun, as your photographer Danny is super positive and funny—at least, most of the time!
Where do We Do Our Photoshoot?
-
Your photos are shot at That Toronto Studio, our professional photography studio located in Studio District (Old Toronto’s Leslieville, on Carlaw between Queen and Dundas).
We can also come to your choice of location for an added fee, and for some elite clients we will fly out and capture them globetrotting. Please inquire for these rates, as they are substantially higher.
-
As you can see, the studio is not only comfortable and fully furnished, but it provides a makeup and hair mirror for any touchups you may want to perform, as well as abundant natural light and tall ceilings and windows for a truly unique experience.
Further, our studio has the highest grade of photography lighting which allows us to capture consistently high quality photography, which we review with you on our swivelling large screen.
Your Entire Process With Us, In Detail
-
1. First Inquire & Book An Appointment
Don’t be shy—ask us any questions you might have. There’s no such thing as a silly question. Once you’re confident that we’re the right choice for you, you can Book Now.
2. Prepare for The Shoot
Never done a professional portrait shoot before? No problem, read this article on How to Prepare for Your Professional Portraits with us!
3. Time to Shoot
Arrive at Danny’s photography studio in Old Toronto, warm up with some conversation and perhaps a cup of tea, and begin your photo session. Make sure to read the following section discussing the photoshoot process.
-
A. First we Build Some Rapport
Before anything else, it’s important to have a quick conversation where we discuss your goals for your portrait photoshoot. This is a good opportunity to also get to know each other a bit. This will help you get superior quality photos.
B. We Capture Some Images
Now we’re ready to shoot your portraits. We capture some test images to start, then shoot for a few minutes and do a preliminary review on our massive swivelling screen. You’ll love the quality!
C. We Shoot, Review, and Repeat
We keep shooting photos and reviewing them on our big screen, making note of all of our favourite images we capture. Then, we repeat the process until we’re both happy and confident with the selection of images we’ve captured and chosen together. Most of the time we finish faster than anticipated.

How do I Choose My Favourite Photos for Editing?
As previously mentioned, we typically make note of your preferred images in-studio so that we can speed up the turnaround time on editing your favourite images in a timely manner. This is the method we use for the Gold Headshots and Platinum Portraits so that we can get you your photos within 1 business day*! For all other portrait types, we send you an online proofing gallery so you can “like” your favourite photos for retouching, and leave us any special requests you may have for specific images.
When do I get my Edited Photos?
Within 1 business day, you’ll receive your favourite photos, edited and ready to upload to LinkedIn, your company website, or your social media! Note, that for larger photoshoots (such as branding sessions) requiring more finished photos, your photographs will take longer to process, but timeliness is always our priority. You’ll always get your photos in a reasonable time span, and we will never cut corners on retouching your portraits.
*The 1 business day guarantee applies to the Gold Headshots and Platinum Portraits, only.

After working with him, many opportunities arose for me and I am very thankful for that. To say the least, Danny was able to capture me at my best. He is very professional and I can tell he loves what he does. Danny is welcoming, funny and makes you feel extremely comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Thanks Danny!”

FAQ
-
Whether you're shooting headshots or portraits, pack clothes that are clean, wrinkle-free, don't have too many patterns, and match the feel of the aesthetic you're looking for! For example, if you're taking corporate LinkedIn photographs, dress smart casually or formally. When in doubt, overdress, and no one ever had any problems bringing an extra outfit or two just in case.
-
Only upon request and with the availability of the makeup and hair crew. Depending on the makeup and hair artists booked, this will be an additional price.
We encourage you to go as natural as possible for your photoshoot, and if you do want to go a bit more "dolled up," it is suggested that you show there already made up, rather than scheduling studio time to do your makeup and hair, as this increases the overall charge for your session.
-
Although I shoot the majority of my headshots and portraits in my professional photography studio, I can also come to you on site for an extra cost if you like.
